How beautiful is your life today?

There may be days when we are hard pressed to find it boldly present.
But seek it in the nuances of life for there between the breaths lives a world of beauty and joy - gently calling our hearts to attention, to rise above the appearances of cacophony. It is there like an exquisite Lotus that blooms in spite of all condition - in waters most polluted or pristine.

I myself caught it in the early morning sunlight, dancing a graceful pas de deux with the shadow of my curtains across the kitchen floor and not too long after, in the air that carried the happy bellowing of the train through my window as it so proudly screeched into the local station in service to its passengers. And presently, I find it in the hurried scooting of chipmunks through my herb garden with such determination and intensity, on their way to where exactly, I do not know. Oh, how they make me smile!

Yes, indeed, there is a perpetual feed of beauty streaming all around us, if we only soften our gaze to it. What a subtle surprise awaits us as we find ourselves smiling sweetly when we feel it shift into focus. Like a truth behind the appearance of an optical illusion, we find ourselves exclaiming, "Ah ha! I see it!"

When we seek and find the beauty in the nuances of life, we make Light of the tasks before us. And most importantly, we leave our corners of the Universe shining a little brighter by day's end. Imagine the potential.

Dedicated to the memory of The Late Honorable Jack Layton, Leader of Canada's Opposition Party, who in life left us with a legacy of example and hope that humanity has the power to make great strides of positive and lasting change in the world. Thank-you, Jack and God Bless you for living your passion in life to the fullest and most of all, for never giving up on your dream. Yours was a shining example to us all of a life well lived.
